who told u that
there is cylendrical samples
but cube are more popular coz they are smaller and cheaper to test cyledrical samples cost double

Ditto on the last contributor. The 6″ dia x 12″ tall cylinder has been the mainstay to compressive testing for a very long time, sorry I can’t say how long, but I know we were testing cylindrical concrete samples in college in the early 70′s. My guess is it has been that way for 100 years+.
