FAQs

What are bond breakers in construction?

A bond breaker is a separator substance applied in between adjoining solid surfaces to ensure that there is no adhesive molecular bond between the surfaces.

What are the types of bond breakers?

Bond breakers can be classified as membrane-forming and non-membrane forming. Membrane-forming bond breakers have the property to hold the water in the casting slab. Non-membrane bond breakers can be either reactive or non-reactive. Reactive bond breakers react with the concrete surface and form a crude soap layer, whereas non-reactive bond breakers interact with the concrete surface to create a waterproof surface.
