- Pour hot water down the drain to loosen the gunk; follow this by pouring half a cup of baking soda and allow it to rest. Hot water and baking soda will do the trick and help erode the grime.
- Pour a cup of vinegar and boiling water down the sink; this will create a chemical reaction that loosens the debris. Allow this to happen for up to 10 minutes and clear it with another cup of boiling water. This will usually work the first time, if not you can repeat it.
- Use boiling water and vinegar by pouring down the drain and wait for some time. Rinse the sink with cold water and then again pour the mix of vinegar and hot water.
- Mix baking soda with hot water and create a paste and allow it to take effect. Scrub the drain with the help of an old toothbrush after 10 minutes. Follow up by pouring boiling water down the drain. Finally pour a cup of water with baking soda.
