The world’s highest luxury hotel, the J Hotel Shanghai Tower, opened in Shanghai on 19th June 2021.
The J Hotel is situated at the top of the 632-meter-tall Shanghai Tower, the second tallest building in the world after Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
The hotel includes 165 rooms and offers 24-hour butler service for its guests. It also includes lifts traveling at speeds of 18 m/sec, which had set the Guinness World Record for the fastest lift in the world in 2016.
The hotel is developed by China’s largest hotel group called Jin Jiang International, Shanghai Chengtou Group, and Shanghai Construction Group.
The J Hotel features a mix of art and culture to offer a unique experience to its visitors. The interior design of the hotel was led by Lv Haiyan, Chairman of Jin Jiang Luxury Hotels Management.
At the entrance, the visitors get to see six crystal Roman columns that lead to an 8 m-high Shikumen, traditional courtyard gates of Shanghai. The 101st floor of the tower hosting the lobby includes a sky bridge with laminated glass and metal.
The iconic hotel utilizes lacquer, glaze, and enamel works along with metal, crystal, and mosaics to create an artistic structure.
The Shanghai Tower, with its 128 floors, offers space for grade A offices, retail, conference center, entertainment, and cultural amenities.
The tower had opened in 2015 and had received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Certification for Core and Shell (CS).
