Qualifying professional surveying experience for initial (first time) Professional Surveyor (PS) license applicants must be obtained under the supervision of a licensed professional surveyor. As per Rule. 8.3 of Miss. Code Ann. §73-13-15

How to Apply for PS Initial Licensure or PS Exam ?
The steps involved to apply for Mississippi’s PE licensure are given below:
- Download the Professional Surveyor (PS) licensure application from the website https://www.pepls.ms.gov/ and fill out the form.
- Provide all the educational qualifications transcripts obtained from the college or university to the board office.
- Provide the verification details of qualified FE Exam
- Attach the five Professional Surveyor Reference form(s)

The Board reviews completed applications approximately every two to three months. Approved applications will be officially cited to the exam(s). The applicant will be advised by letter, directing to the exam registration process for the PPS with the exam proctor, NCEES (www.ncees.org); and for the Mississippi Section examination (MS state specific exam) which is proctored by the Board’s staff in Jackson, MS.
