Billionaire Marc Lore has unveiled the plan to build a sustainable city, called Telosa, in the US. The former Walmart executive plans to build a sustainable metropolis in the American desert with $400 billion in funding.

The 150,000-acre project aims to offer eco-friendly architecture, sustainable energy production, and a drought-resistant water system. Telosa will adopt a “15-minute city design” to allow residents to access their workplaces, schools, and amenities within a 15-minute commute from their homes.
The planners are exploring locations for the project with possible options, including Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and the Appalachian region.
The first phase of the project would accommodate 50,000 residents across 1,500 acres and would cost an estimated $25bn.
The city expects to welcome the first residents by 2030 and reach a population of 5 million within 40 years.

Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the project architecture, unveiled a series of digital renderings, showing residential buildings covered with greenery and residents enjoying open space within the city. The renderings also depict autonomous vehicles alongside scooters and pedestrians as Telosa will ban the use of fossil-fuel-powered vehicles.
A proposed skyscraper named the “Equitism Tower” was also shown in the renderings, which will feature elevated water storage, aeroponic farms, and an energy-producing photovoltaic roof.
The funding for the project will come from private investors, philanthropists, federal and state grants, and economic development subsidies.
