    The disadvantages of ponding:

    1. Evaporation is high
    2. Constant monitoring
    3. Excess water is needed
    4. The initial work for ponding must be done

    However, it is a very simple process and doesn’t need skilled labours, thus the disadvantages maybe overruled by that advantage.

    The disadvantages of  polythene sheets:

    1. Costly
    2. Needs skilled labours
    3. Care has to be taken to ensure that the polythene sheets are free from any holes or fissures
    4. Extra attention must be given to the proper installation of the sheets.

    However, this method if installed properly  retains moisture inside the concrete for  a longer period of time.

    Weigh batching is usually preferred to volume batching. The main drawback of volume batching is that it doesn't account for the bulking of sand. Due to this bulking, the strength of concrete is compromised.   Weigh batching produces a high quality of concrete than the volume batching.

    The major impurities added are Manganese, Nickel, Chromium, Vanadium, and Carbon. In addition to this, dissolved gases like Nitrogen and Oxygen are also added to maintain the quality of the steel.
