    The soil samples whose natural structural integrity gets changed, during the process of collection, to a considerable amount is called disturbed soil samples. These changes could be in the soil structure, in the stress condition, in its texture, in the water content and void ratio, in chemical properties, etc.

    Undisturbed soil samples:

    In undisturbed soil samples the natural soil structure, the stress condition, its texture, the water content, and the void ratio, the chemical properties do not get changed during sampling.

    The minimum radius of a horizontal curve by considering maximum superelevation and coefficient of friction is called ruling minimum radius.

    For Ruling design speed, Ruling minimum radius is given by

    R(ruling)=v²/g(e+f)

    where,

    R=Ruling minimum radius in m

    v = ruling design speed in m/s

    e = superelevation (0.07)

    f = coefficient of friction (0.15)

    g = acceleration due to gravity in m/s²

    Piling works have high depths (around 30 m or above) and at such depths vibrators can't be used. At these depths it is advisable not to use vibrators because soil may get collapsed.     • At these depths it is advisable not to use vibrators because soil may get collapsed.
    • Concrete used in piling works have high slumps so it can easily flow through reinforcement cage and the mix is designed to compact itself .
    • In some cases vibrators can be used to compact the concrete by vibrating the concreting pipe during pouring.
