    Generally, Residential bldgs are given 10ft roof height. If the false ceiling is provided, then the height is from 10.5 - 11ft. For commercial bldg, it is 10 - 12ft.

    Membrane Curing is generally used to cure concrete in highway construction. A membrane is formed that helps to retain moisture in the concrete slab.     Membrane Curing is generally used to cure concrete in highway construction.

    A membrane is formed that helps to retain moisture in the concrete slab. Otherwise, the moisture will get evaporated from the concrete.

    Membrane curing compounds are used, which makes a layer. Bituminised water evidence papers, wax emulsions, bitumen emulsions, and plastic films are of its normally used.

    The wetted solid surface is covered by a layer of waterproof material, which is stayed in touch with the concrete surface of seven days.

    Focal points –

    This technique doesn’t bother with constant supervision.

    It is used as an advantage at places where water isn’t available inadequate amount for Wet Curing.

    Disservices –

    Isn’t that effective as compared to wet restoring because of the fact that the rate of hydration is less?

    The side facing r/f, also called Skin r/f is installed in a beam when the depth of beam is more than 750mm or when torsion is present in it, these r/f are provided when the depth is more than 450mm of the beam. The main job is to prevent the stirrups from buckling.

    The beam, which is reinforced from both zones i.e., compression and tension, that beam is said as Doubly Reinforced beam. It is usually given when the depth of the beam is constricted. It is obviously not safe to provide a singly r/f beam with min depth resulting in failure due to insufficient resistance to oppose the bending moment.

    Moment of resistance could not be increased by increasing the steel in the tension zone. Rather it can be increased by increasing the reinforcement, but it should not exceed 25% of the strained side. That’s why a doubly reinforced beam is provided to increase the moment of resistance of a beam having limited dimensions.

    The development length of every bar of bundled bars should be that for the individual bar, increased by 10 % for two bars in contact, 20 % for three bars in contact, and 33 % for four bars in contact.
