    For a civil engineer career options are as below.

    1. Engineering- you can join design firm as a design engineer.
    2. Construction – you can be construction engineer
    3. Schedule Engineer/Planning Engineer (Project Controls)- After graduation you can do post graduation in NICMAR or equivalent institutes be a schedule engineer.
    4. Estimator – you can be a quantity or cost estimator.
    5. Contracts Administrator.
    6. Procurement Engineer – you can join supply chain – be a expeditor or buyer or material specialist.
    7. Safety Engineer-  by studying safety related courses ( NIBOSH etc) you can choose to be a Safety Engineer.
    8. Environment Engineer.
    9. Builder- you can be on your own by starting your own business in building construction or work as contractor for government projects.

It is not just plinth level but even the access roads to your house or finish grade levels around your house or community should be developed by site improvement works to level well above HFL.

    Very important question before providing clearances to pour concrete. I would follow following steps. Ensure Contractor has bar bending schedule and approved drawing. Ensure reinforcement used are approved grade and test certificates are in place. Check  diameter of rebar ( reinforcement) Check spacRead more

    Very important question before providing clearances to pour concrete. I would follow following steps.

    1. Ensure Contractor has bar bending schedule and approved drawing.
    2. Ensure reinforcement used are approved grade and test certificates are in place.
    3. Check  diameter of rebar ( reinforcement)
    4. Check spacing
    5. Check banding radius
    6. Check number of bars
    7. Check laps are of proper length. Some time couplers are used to join the reinforcement. Couplers must be approved.
    8. Check proper cover to rebar is in place.
    9. Covers should be approved
    10. Check the reinforcement installed does not sag  or move. For this ensure you use chairs.
    11. Tie the rebars together using soft annealed lining wire and turn the know inside.
    12. Reinforcement must be clean without any dirt or coating.
    13. Some time special reinforcement steel is provided around openings. Ensure this is in place.
    14. It is normal for QC departments to use check lists for this.

    Inspection is missing in our country to large extent.

    In the past, In India I have come across  boiler inspectors come inspect boiler installations on a power plant.

    In real estate government authorities perform inspections before issuing Completion Certificate or Occupancy Certificate.

    In Middle East it is mandatory for every project the obtain clearance certificates Civil Defence before project facilties are put to use. Most importantly Civil defence inspects the facilities for working of fire protections systems.

    As per the mode of measurement I  used in my earlier part of career , 50% of the opening size is deducted. Hope this helps.

    PSC is a blended cement. This is manufactured using slag coming out of steel plants. PSC can be used in all types of construction including roofing. Hope this helps.
