    Pile Foundation: Pile Foundations is advised only when a raft foundation cannot be proposed because of the excessive settlement generated due to the underlying loose or slightly compressible soil. Thank You.

    Foundation for Black Cotton Soil: Actually the under-reamed pile foundation is one of the best foundation for black cotton soil.Under-reamed pile has bulbs at its lower end.Strip foundation & Pier foundation also used for black cotton soil. Thank You.

    The main reinforcement should be provided on a longer span because of the following reason: The longer span has to bear a higher bending moment A longer span produces a larger moment on a longer beam. The longest span is in an extra critical condition. Thank You.

    Pile foundations are habitually used for large structures and in certain situations where the soil at shallow depth is unsuitable to withstand excessive settlement & resist uplift. Thank You.

    If the forces available to resist movement are larger than the forces driving movement, then the slope is considered stable A factor of safety is calculated by dividing the forces resisting movement by the forces driving movement. Thank You.
