We know that young’s modulus is the ratio of stress to the strain. Therefore, for a given stress, the strain produced in steel is much smaller than that produced in rubber. This implies that Young’s modulus for steel is greater than that for rubber.

    Murrum soil is the soil of humid tropical or equatorial zones. It is characterised by the deep weathered layer fom which silica has been leached.     Murrum soil is the soil of humid tropical or equatorial zones. It is characterised by the deep weathered layer fom which silica has been leached. Thus, there is no humus, but an accumulation of aluminium and iron oxides and hydroxides. These soils are reddish in color & is imparted by the iron compounds. For building huts and paths, they are good materials, as it can be compacted easily to form hard surfaces.

    Murrum soil comes under laterite soil. Laterite is a soil and a rock type rich in iron and aluminium. Murrum soil is also referred as being a rock type but it is not a rock.

    The approximate density of murrum soil is 1.8 gm/cc.

    Having smaller diameter rebar distributed throughout the structure also distributes the load from the concrete to the steel more effectively as there is a greater area of contact for adhesion between the two.

    Hey, To solve the inclined trusses, Methods of joints is the appropriate method. With the help of this, one can easily identify the force in respective member of truss.

    But before solving the truss, some points should be kept in mind and these are listed below :-

    1. If two members are meeting at joint, with no external force acting on them, then forces in both the members will be zero.

    2. If the magnitude of force will come positive then force will be considered as Tensile And if magnitude of force will come negative then force will be considered Compressive.

    3. If two members are collinear then force in the third member ,connected but not in straight line with two members, will be zero: F3 = zero

    A group of reinforced bars, parallelly set to each other to act as a unit should be limited four in a bundle used as reinforcement in reinforced concrete, enclosed by stirrups or ties. Bars greater than 32mm should not be bundled in beams.

    The development length of every bar of bundled bars should be that for the individual bar, increased by 10 % for two bars in contact, 20 % for three bars in contact, and 33 % for four bars in contact.

    The small dia reinforcement wrapped around the main or longitudinal reinforcement of columns, restraining the lateral expansion of the concrete under compression and thus strengthening the column. Columns with one helical reinforcement take more load than that of tied column due to additional strength of spiral.

    Helical reinforcement can protect columns/piles against seismic loads.

    Mathematically, poissons ratio is equal to the negative of the ratio of lateral strain and longitudinal strain. Therefore, if the poisson’s ratio is greater than the strength is greater.
