    What are the best skill-based courses for a graduate engineer to be employable?

    As a civil engineer leadership is the most important skill a person can have. After completing the graduation a fresher civil engineer handles is site it as a site engineer so he or she must be know how to handle the labels and how to oo to get good work from them.

    Following are some important skills a fresher must learn,

    1. Leadership skills
    2. Organisational skills
    3. As a civil engineer decision making is most important
    4. Presentation skills
    5. Communication skills
    6. You must know how to operate all software regarding structures, design and construction.
    7. Management skills and analytical skills.
    8. if you want to become a good civil engineer you must have good negotiations skills because you have to negotiate the deals with suppliers to reduce the cost of the whole project.
    9. Completion of the project on time is also an important thing for civil engineer. Time management is a good skill a fresher can have.
    10. Teamwork. As a civil engineer, you always deal with your team to construct a project and to manage a project.

    Honestly, employment is a need of any kind of education. 

    It’s a really very annoying thing that many graduate engineers are unemployed.

    here I will be discussing some important courses so that you can do your career in that field.


    Skill-based courses for a graduate engineer are listed below ;

    • Branch specific technical or skill-oriented course
    • PGDM
    • Various software courses
    • Maritime (Merchant Navy courses)
    • M.tech.
    • M.Sc or M.S.
    • MBA
    • Get into the armed forces
    • Animation, graphics VFX
    • Competitive exam preparation like UPSC, GATE and state-wise PSC.

    There is not a simple answer to your question. It depends on what type of engineering you are studying. The best advice is to read some job advertisements for graduate engineering jobs. Note down what skills are requested. Some of these will be addressed by your engineering program. Other skills you can build on the side. These include communication and collaboration skills.

    Engineers spend 60% of their time communicating and <20% of their time doing technical stuff. Your engineering program will do a very good job of developing your technical skills but it’s the social skills of collaboration that will determine your ultimate success in the workplace. So, work hard at all those group projects. Figure out what it takes to get everyone engaged. One day, this will be a vital skill in your workplace.
