Hi,
I considered that you are asking for fly ash from the power plant.
To understand the concept, first of all, you know that fly ash from anywhere has radioactive elements. It also includes Mercury to the original beds of coal.
Some radioactive elements like thorium uranium and there TK products like radium and radon. All these elements are less toxic (chemically) as compared to call products such as selenium, mercury and arsenic.
As a reference to the above concept, yes fly ash contains radioactive elements but it does no harm to any construction activities and construction materials. Thus it is safe to use up to the proper limit as per IS code or ACI.

Hi,
I am a civil engineer by profession and exploring new things as a passion and poet by heart.
Currently, I am in the final year of civil engineering and preparing for competitive exams. Also completed various online courses related to Civil Engineering branch and do freelancing as a content writer.
Due to a worldwide lockdown, I do online lectures and projects.
Thank you.

Hi, this is a more crucial and common issue as a civil engineer.
Foundation settlement must be prevented by analysis carefully of the soil before the building Foundation constructed. Non-expansive is the best soil for building foundation. It simply means that it contains a little clay or silt content. In an ideal condition, the building site should be native soil nature than an artificial field soil from outside.
Before construction, ensure to consult a civil engineer for determining the various factors of load-bearing soil at that place. If any necessary changes of the soil or in the foundation constructed method it determined early.
because many other cases the solution would be a simple or just by extending the foundation up to the hard strata from poor soil.

Hi, sunlight is the best source of light and energy. So to use effectively, the placing of windows and other openings and reflective surfaces matters a lot.
As a civil engineer, it’s our aim to maximize the comfort of the user and reduce the energy consumption for saving electricity.
The design of the building should be like this the rays of sunlight it will be scattered from the wall and reflect and cover a maximum area of the house. There will be no direct sunlight on polar sites of the walls that are north facing and south-facing. Providing large Windows is a good option to maximize the use of natural sources of light.
In the present scenario, translucent concrete is been used as concrete which transfers the light in various commercial buildings to reduce the use of artificial electricity. This is a great gift from nanotechnology.
the position of lights inside the room must be at the middle of the wall and not at the corners so that lights spread 180 degrees.

Hi,
drained shear test: during the shearing of the sample, the rate of displacement should be adjusted to allow the drainage is called a drained share test. Drained strength of parameters is determined for the long-term stability of cut slopes.
undrained shear test: it is a peak value of shear stress in a horizontal direction. This test is conducted on a cylindrical sample which is encased in a wire-reinforced membrane.
In simple words, it is a compression test in which the specimen of soil is consolidated first under a pressure around in which a tri-axial cell before failures is about to increase the major principal stress.

Hi,
During selecting a penstock, it’s a crucial choice of the pipe diameter and the pressure permissible with the material. the material should be selected according to the pressure and the condition of the run also with local circumstances. HDPE- high-density polyethene pipes are a popular choice as a material for penstock. By using this material determine gives efficiency by up to 70%.
Nozzles must be designed in a way that the laws of pressure are as much as small as possible so that the coefficient of nozzle increases. To avoid the friction nozzle should be constructed with a possible largest radius.
